We offer keynote presentations that are customized to focus on your specific challenge, or are drawn from the design lecture series given by Lauralee Alben.

For well over a decade, Lauralee Alben has been delivering large doses of inspiration, humor, and wit to professional and academic audiences. She is a speaker that leaves you feeling like you just got off a wild, emotional roller coaster, all the while alternating between laughing your head off and drying your tears. Her topics primarily involve the two things she knows the most about, design and being human. Lauralee pulls no punches, calling it like she sees it, and offering equal parts provocation and compassion. Always, her talks are a call to action.

Lauralee frequently gives keynote addresses and workshops to corporations, such as Procter & Gamble and Adobe, promoting the value design brings to business. She also speaks at professional conferences, including the AIGA (American Institute for Graphic Arts) National Design Conference, the Design Management Institute's International Conference, TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design), and the NSF Executive Symposium on Leadership in Design and Innovation. Because of her commitment to bridge the professional and academic worlds, Lauralee has lectured at many schools and universities including Yale, Stanford, and Carnegie Mellon.

Lauralee is currently speaking about "Sea Change Stories," including the one she helped bring about at Procter & Gamble. In the works, is a new talk on "Designing Happiness." By far, Lauralee's most requested talk has been "At the heart of interaction design," which she first presented as a recipient of the Muriel Cooper Prize given by the Design Management Institute in 1997. The topic has something to do with the emerging field of computer technology, and a lot to do with they ways we interact with and are shaped by all sorts of things from kitchen gadgets to sanctuary gardens. Lauralee has also presented case studies of her design projects for the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Apple Computer, as well as the talk, "Quality of experience: Defining the criteria for interactive design," among others.
